Can t remove vista

Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to Rick Rogers's post on October 25, I had thought the same thing and have already tried that, however, it always comes back with no problems found. Do I need to set Win7 as default and remove Vista and then use the disk for start up repair to get this to work and remove Win7 from the list?

As soon as I click "normal startup" Win7 is added back to the list and set as default. Hi, Someone has had Windows 7 near that computer and possibly over-written some of the boot information.

In reply to BlueFireIce's post on October 27, Hi BlueFireIce, Is original boot configuration greyed? In reply to Dena B's post on October 29, If you are not aware of their function, this is how they work. This tool don't need windows to operate in order run its application.

It is a very easy application that loads and runs before Windows start-up. It can be able to trace the location where the password has been stored by searching through Windows root folders and files. Then they change the files which hold the password and resets it to being blank. This works as simple as that. Now, with this being done, the final step will reset your system then allow you to log into your windows Vista straight in. This program can be used to reset password for any Windows computer including Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP and so on.

Only three steps required you can access to your Windows without system re-installation and data lost. Because you can't access to your Windows Vista computer, so you need to find an another accessible computer for installing the program and burning a reset disk. Your USB flash drive will be detected by the software automatically and then you can choose the name of the flash drive from the drop-down menu.

Once it is finished, you will see a pop up message that will say "Burning Successfully" indicating the password reset disk is created perfectly. To load the program, first you must change the boot device priority on your locked computer so that the system can recognize the USB driver as the primary disk to boot from. To change the boot priority settings, perform the following steps. Use the arrow keys to navigate through the options and open the "Boot" section. Now reboot your computer again so that the system can launch iSeePassword program upon startup.

It is time to reset the password and completely remove it from the login screen. This part is very simple and straight forward. Select the username that is currently locked from the "Select a User" option. Click on "Reset Password" and wait for few moments to finish the operation. Click "Reboot". That's all. You may remove the USB flash drive from the computer now and you will be able to login to your PC without entering any password at all. Is that correct? Also I'm running it with both sticks in, should I be doing them 1 at a time, 7 passes each?

Thanks again. Here's a crazy twist for you. I removed one stick of RAM and started up Memtest. So I figured, there's the problem, bad RAM stick. I switched to the other stick and got the same thing, MB. This is using the same slot each time, I tried both sticks individually in the other slot starting up Memtest each time and here's where it's weird.

I get MB no matter which stick I use and no matter which slot I use it in, but if I use both sticks in both slots at the same time get MB. Ever seen that before?

I've got Memtest running right now on the first stick anyway just to see I ran both sticks individually through 7 or more passes in Memtest and aside from the missing MB, which as previously noted is allocated to video, they both came up with no errors. So the RAM looks good Kimsland you rock!!!! It worked. Xp installed with no issues whatsoever. I did pre-format the HDD leaving the recovery partition intact just in case it didn't work, or there were driver issues down the road and away it went.

Thank a million for all the help!! Thanks :grinthumb Let me know how you go I usually just put the motherboard name and model and windows OS and the word "drivers" in google to find drivers the manufacture doesn't support. Similar threads S. Scott Dec 11, Windows.
