Given the length of time it takes to run the upgrade, I don't really want to start it again without first taking some corrective action which might increase the chance of success.

Joined Feb 28, Messages 1, Joined Aug 1, Messages 51, The best way to install any servce pack without problems, using less space on the drive, and ending up with a CD for the new OS that you can use for repairs, is to create an XP SP3 CD and run a repair installation on your current setup. This PC only has MB memory, and can't take any more.

I'll try the download method, and if that doesn't work I'll try the method of making a CD. If so, disable "Real Time Protection" in the Settings menu.
